Our Trip to FIJI
and New Zealand

We are back home.

Here is Conan our dog with his Takahe bird toy. The Takahe is endemic to New Zealand and is one of the world's most endangered birds. Formerly thought to be extinct by 1900, a small population was found in 1948 in Murchison Mountains in the South Island. Conan is also sitting on an artificial Moa fur blanket.

This is Stephanie on the beach in Piha. There is a special TV show that airs on this beach that is Bay Watch New Zealand style.

Tuesday - A Video Adventure

Watch the video below on the crazy thing we decided to do. We have a philosophy that you don't really get to experience life unless you do something scary every day. This was scary!!!

MONDAY September 7, 2009
We landed in Nadi, the largest city in Fiji, early on Monday morning after crossing the International Date line.  It's odd leaving on Saturday night from Los Angeles then arriving on Monday morning - talk about wasting a day!  No free Fiji water when we got off plane - they do have it here, but sell many other brands, too.  Tourism is definitely off here.  Taxi driver told us he's happy that high season starts now.
